About me and my practice
Hello, I'm Andrea Long, a BACP-registered counsellor based in Bolton, Greater Manchester. I offer one-to-one counselling for adults, both face-to-face at my practice on Belmont Road and online throughout the UK.
I understand that deciding to begin counselling can feel like a big step. You might be experiencing anxiety, struggling with bereavement, feeling overwhelmed by everyday life or finding yourself repeating patterns that leave you feeling unhappy or stuck.
Whatever brings you to counselling, my aim is to offer a welcoming, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly and feel heard.
My approach is grounded in Transactional Analysis (TA), a form of talking therapy that explores how our early experiences can shape the way we think, feel, communicate and relate to others.
By developing a greater understanding of these patterns, we can work together to explore what might be holding you back and what you would like to change.
I believe that counselling should be a collaborative process, with you setting the pace. There is no pressure to talk about anything before you feel ready.
I work with adults experiencing anxiety, grief and loss, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, stress and challenging life transitions.
I offer sessions at Douglas House, 196 Belmont Road, Bolton, BL1 7AR, as well as online counselling for clients across the UK.
If you're considering counselling, I offer a free 1015 minute introductory telephone call so we can discuss what you're looking for and whether working together feels right for you.
